Translate only new content. Use Translation Memory for the rest
Create your corporate database of translated texts and save time for subsequent translation of similar documents. The system will automatically translate common sections and terminology (specifications, contract preamble, etc.) by retrieving their translation from Translation Memory databases, according to your corporate standards.
PROMT Translator linguistic editor is the heart of the application and allows it to translate texts of any complexity. You can even get a translation without customizing the system: simply add some text to the translation pane and click Translate. The goal of such basic translation is to help you get the gist of the source text and decide whether you need to work further with it. Because of the new algorithms and vastly expanded dictionaries (we have added over 300,000 new entries), PROMT v9.0 offers high-quality translation even in this basic mode. For more difficult tasks, such as translating specialized texts, the system offers an extremely flexible setup. You have complete control over all translation settings: choose profiles, enable dictionaries-built-in or additional dictionaries from the installed PROMT collections, and Translation Memory databases. Setting up PROMT Professional 9.0 is very easy and does not take much time.

Translating messages in ICQ, Skype, QIP, and MSN Messenger
Instant messengers have proven their efficiency in a business when a quick communications are imperative, when talking with your international partners, coworkers, and clients, for example. It would be daunting and frustrating, however, to discuss the details of a project with your partner overseas if you had to look up every other word. PROMT Professional 9.0 breaks barriers to efficient communication thanks to the feature that enables translation of instant messages in ICQ, Skype, QIP, and MSN Messenger.Depending on your settings, you can translate messages in a separate window or directly in your current chat window. This feature is now available in the four most popular instant messengers. In addition to ICQ in v8.5, in v9.0 we have included support for Skype, QIP, and MSN Messenger.
Translating Web pages in Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox
Quick translation of analytical articles by international experts, news from all over the world, and quick familiarization with information from foreign-language sources-these are just a few tasks that PROMT Professional 9.0 can handle, with translation options that can be built into the most popular browsers: Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox. You only need to select the translation direction and profile, as well as what you want to translate-the selected portion of a Web page or a Web page in its entirety. The original text formating will be preserved in the translation along with all the URLs on the page.
Creating your own dictionaries
To guarantee maximum accuracy in translating terminology in highly specialized and technical texts, it is best to use additional dictionaries. With PROMT Professional 9.0 you can create your own dictionaries to use with our system. A user can choose one of the two modes for editing dictionaries: Simple (with the dictionary displayed as a table, where you can add a new term and its translation), and Advanced (intended for users with a more sophisticated linguistic background), which offers a number of additional features.
Using online dictionaries
You can use additional translations of a word or phrase by enabling online word databases (such as Multitran, for example). You can immediately add translations from these databases to your user dictionary and use them at any time.
Creating Translation Memory databases
You can store translated texts in the Translation Memory database and retrieve them later without retranslating. This is especially relevant for similar documents that contain identical portions of text (contract, technical and legal documentation, manuals, etc.)
